When Working from Home... Scent is key

As Working from Home is rapidly becoming the new normal, habits are being formed during these unsettling times. The rapid evolution in News reporting, instant access to 24-hour information including social media is at best impacting our short-term mood and at worst damaging our long term emotional and physical wellbeing. Unfortunately, today the overload of negative news leaves us feeling powerless.

This brand of stress can manifest itself in negative tensions in the stomach, chest, and shoulders causing muscular knots. All this exposure takes away the ability to focus and think clearly. Our situation is leading us to lethargy, depression, and exhaustion all at the same time.

Scent is the Key in addressing these ailments. Researching the benefits of aromatherapy, collaborating with the experts we’ve designed our Scentherapy collection. By enhancing our everyday lives with scents, this experience including building new healthier routines will give us a better quality of life. From the simple scent of a candle to the “Hospital Used, Doctor Approved” Aeroscena Ascents Medical Grade Aromatherapy and everything in between each has a benefit to our well-being and we can guide you to the best possible scents and solutions for your needs.

The key benefit of scent is creating an aromatic experience for every room, where it can change your living room into a “Well-Lived” room. At Beauty Body Home we recognize the importance of Scent and its healing abilities to our lives. With Scentherapy, our aromatic experience affects the human body, mind and spirit; equally enhancing wellness at the touch of a button, the light of a candle or a quick spray of a fragrance, we can shut out the world for a while and make a connection to our, “well-being”.

We’ve chosen formulations from understanding how fragrance impacts a home, not only room by room but also by mood by mood. Our candles, diffusers, room sprays and medical grade Phyto-inhalants that address everything from calming stress & anxiety to providing better focus and balance.

To maximize the effect, find a quiet, comfortable place where you can sit, program your diffuser or simply light the candle or put reed sticks in your diffuser, just relax your shoulders, and rest your hands on your thighs. Close your eyes and focus on your breathing. Inhale slowly through your nose and through your mouth. Each time you take a breath in, let the tension drift away with each breath.

Remember don’t leave out Scent when you think of home décor as it’s a key component in creating an experience in each room. Here are some of our suggestions:

Entry & Hallways

Make the best first impression with the right scent.  Choose fragrances with rich tones that are welcoming and calming when you walk in your front door.

The “Well” Lived Room

Transform your “living room” to a “well lived” room, a place where you relax and wind down. Infuse this area with fragrances of light tranquil notes that are both inviting and comforting.

The Kitchen

The kitchen is the room that is naturally filled with a number of smells during food preparation and after. To cut through those lingering food smells, choose a fragrance containing citrus, such as lemon, orange and neroli

The Dining Room

Scent can easily overpower or clash with food smells in the dining room. A perfect pairing are candles with diffusers of lemon or grapefruit.

The Bedroom

Soft, floral scents are perfect for creating a relaxing environment in the bedroom. Try a fragrance of orchid petals with ylang-ylang with a splash of sparkling citrus for an “exotically floral aroma”.

The Bathroom

Aromatherapy is key to creating “the home spa experience” in the bathroom. Fragrances of lemongrass, lavender, bergamot, ylang-ylang, patchouli and peppermint to restore equilibrium and reset a busy mind.

The Home Office

With people now working fully remotely, the home office is where we are spending more time than ever.  Use light, motivating and uplifting scents; blends of lavender and peppermint for focus and bergamot and lemon to uplift and awaken.
